Working days, or business days, are the days in a period that are not weekends or public holidays. In 2026 there are 261 weekdays and, with the 11 US federal holidays taken out, 250 working days. This calculator counts them between two dates, adds or subtracts working days, and lets you choose your weekend.
Private by design. Nothing you type is uploaded or saved. Add this tool to your phone or computer for one-tap access.
Holidays are only as good as the list. The built-in sets cover rule-based holidays; one-off days, regional holidays and moon-sighted Islamic dates are not guaranteed. For a contract, a visa or a legal deadline, confirm the exact days with the official notice.

The tool walks through every calendar date in the range and counts the dates that are neither a weekend day (you choose which weekdays) nor a holiday. A holiday that falls on a weekend day is not counted twice. Adding or subtracting working days moves one working day at a time, skipping weekends and holidays; the start date itself is never counted. Working hours are working days times your daily hours less any unpaid break. US and UK holidays are generated by rule, including the substitute days. Islamic holidays are calculated from the Hijri calendar and can be shifted by up to two days for local moon sighting.
For example, Monday 19 to Friday 23 October 2026 with both ends counted is 5 working days. The whole of 2026 has 365 days and 261 weekdays; the 11 US federal holidays, with Independence Day observed on Friday 3 July, leave 250 working days. Thirty working days after 1 October 2026 is 12 November 2026. At 8 hours a day, 22 working days is 176 hours. The dates are made up; yours come from what you type.
