The short answer
There is no single price for Umrah, because the trip is made of separate parts that move independently: the flight, the hotels, the visa and insurance, transport, the operator’s fee and what you eat. A 2026 cost guide for Pakistani pilgrims gives a range of PKR 220,000 to PKR 500,000 or more for the whole trip, depending on the season, the airline and how close your hotel is to the Haram.
The same guide gives rough package prices by season for an economy trip, which are a better starting point than one number.
| When you travel | Package price per person |
|---|---|
| Outside Ramadan | PKR 220,000 to 300,000 |
| First twenty nights of Ramadan | PKR 400,000 to 600,000 |
| Last ten nights of Ramadan | PKR 600,000 to 800,000 or more |
The itemised costs
Seeing the parts separately is the most useful thing you can do before you call an operator, because it shows what a quote must contain. The ranges below are published estimates for a trip of seven to ten nights from Pakistan. The last column is the starting figure the calculator on this site uses for an economy trip of ten nights outside Ramadan.
| Item | Published range | Calculator start (10 nights) |
|---|---|---|
| Return flight | PKR 100,000 to 220,000 | PKR 130,000 |
| Hotels in Makkah and Madinah | PKR 70,000 to 200,000 or more | PKR 100,000 |
| Visa fee (SAR 300) | About PKR 22,300 | PKR 22,300 |
| Local transport | PKR 10,000 to 30,000 | PKR 18,000 |
| Operator service fee | PKR 15,000 to 40,000 | PKR 25,000 |
| Food and incidentals | PKR 15,000 to 50,000 | PKR 25,000 |
| Insurance | Mandatory, priced separately | PKR 8,000 |
| Nusuk package | Varies by arrangement | PKR 15,000 |
The visa is the one fixed, official figure: the Saudi Umrah visa fee is about SAR 300, which was roughly PKR 22,300 when the 2026 guide was written. The mandatory health insurance is bought on top of it, and the cost depends on your age and the cover.
Three worked budgets
The calculator builds hotel and food costs from a nightly rate, so the total grows with the number of nights. These budgets are for one pilgrim travelling economy outside Ramadan. A seven-night trip comes to PKR 305,800, ten nights to PKR 343,300 and fourteen nights to PKR 393,300.
| Nights | Hotels | Food | Flights and fixed costs | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 7 | PKR 70,000 | PKR 17,500 | PKR 218,300 | PKR 305,800 |
| 10 | PKR 100,000 | PKR 25,000 | PKR 218,300 | PKR 343,300 |
| 14 | PKR 140,000 | PKR 35,000 | PKR 218,300 | PKR 393,300 |
These are starting estimates, not quotes. Your real figure will differ with the airline you fly, the hotel you choose and the date you go. The point of the table is to show how much of the total is fixed and how much depends on the nights.
Hajj & Umrah cost calculatorChange the nights, package level or any line to match your own quote. What to check in an operator’s quote
- Which flight and which dates are included, and whether the return is on the same airline.
- The name and distance of each hotel from the Haram, and the number of people in a room.
- Whether the visa, the mandatory insurance and the Nusuk arrangements are included or charged separately.
- Whether airport transfers and the transfer between Makkah and Madinah are included.
- Whether any meals are included. Economy packages often exclude them.
- The operator’s service fee, and its refund and cancellation terms in writing.
- That the operator is licensed, and that your booking is confirmed through the official channels where required.
Costs people forget
- A passport, if yours needs renewal.
- Meningitis and any other required or recommended vaccination.
- Meals outside the hotel, drinking water, mobile data and local travel on Ziyarah days.
- Gifts and shopping, which can easily become the largest unplanned cost.
- Currency exchange. Saudi riyals cost more or less rupees by the time you travel than when you plan.
Using the figures to plan
Start from the economy, outside-Ramadan total, add a margin of ten to fifteen percent for what you have forgotten, and then compare it with a real quote. If the quote is much higher, the difference will usually be in hotel distance or the season. If it is much lower, check what is left out, usually meals, insurance or transfers.
Once you have a figure, divide it by the number of months before you want to travel to find the monthly amount to put aside. The guide on saving for Hajj or Umrah shows how.
