Abdul Baseer

Last updated

I am Abdul Baseer, Islamic scholar and accountant, from Karachi, Pakistan. I build and maintain Baseer Tools myself, and I am responsible for everything it publishes. This page tells you what I write about, what I do not, and where to find my work. The about page tells the story of the site, and the editorial policy explains how pages are sourced and checked.

My background

I hold the Shahadat-ul-Alamiya from Jamia Darul Uloom Karachi and a bachelor’s degree from Hazara University, Mansehra. By profession I am an accountant. These two sides of my work are why the site puts business and accounting tools beside Islamic planning tools.

I started Baseer Tools because most people face everyday problems that should not take long: a document to make, a figure to work out, a date to check. They want the answer in seconds, so I build tools that give it in seconds, for free.

What I cover

The tools and guides under my name cover business documents and day-to-day accounting for small organisations in Pakistan and the Gulf, and Islamic planning tools that count and subtract from figures you enter, such as zakat, the Hijri calendar, missed prayers, estate arithmetic and the cost of Hajj and Umrah. The Gulf gratuity tools and guides are there because so many Pakistanis work in the UAE and Qatar. The tools are listed by group:

My guides are listed below. 13 guides carry my name.

What I do not cover

I am not a United States tax professional, a labour lawyer or a medical professional, and I do not issue religious rulings through this site. Pages on United States tax, retirement, Medicare and overtime (17 guides, and the tools they link to) are published under the name Baseer Tools Editorial, and each tool says what it does not cover. The Islamic tools are calculations, not fatwas. For a ruling on your own situation, please ask a qualified scholar in person.
