How do you calculate 30 days from today?

30 days are counted in calendar days, with today as day 0. The calculator adds 30 days to the start date (today unless you change it), or subtracts it in “before” mode, using plain Gregorian calendar dates with no time zone. Working days are weekdays that are not US federal holidays, counted after the start date up to and including the end date. Federal holidays use the observed date, so a Saturday holiday is observed on Friday and a Sunday holiday on Monday. If the result falls on a weekend or a federal holiday, the next working day is shown too. Employer, state and bank holidays are not included.

For example, 30 days after Friday, January 15, 2027: 30 days is 4 weeks and 2 days, so the weekday moves 2 days and the date is Sunday, February 14, 2027. Of the 30 days after the start, 20 are weekdays and 1 of those weekdays is a federal holiday, which leaves 19 working days. The dates are made up for the example; yours start from today or from the date you enter.

Who should use the 30 days from today calculator

  • Renters and landlords counting a 30-day notice

  • Anyone with a 30-day return, trial or payment term

Who should not use this

  • Anyone who needs a legal deadline, since courts and contracts have their own counting rules
  • Anyone who needs a state, employer or bank holiday list; only US federal holidays are built in

  • A contract, notice or court rule may count days differently; check the wording that applies to you.
  • Results are calendar arithmetic, not legal advice.
  • Nothing is uploaded or stored on a server. Clearing your browser data also removes the saved profile.

What is 30 days from today?

Thirty days is the most common deadline in notices, returns and trial periods. It is not always one month: 30 days from January 15 is February 14, while one month from January 15 is February 15.

For example, 30 days after Friday, January 15, 2027 is Sunday, February 14, 2027. That is 30 days, or 4 weeks and 2 days. Skipping Saturdays, Sundays and federal holidays, the span holds 19 working days. Federal holidays inside it: Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Jan 18, 2027). The date itself is a Sunday, so the next working day is Tuesday, February 16, 2027.

How do you count 30 days from a date?

  1. Write down the start date. Today is day 0, so tomorrow is day 1.
  2. Add 30 to the day of the month and carry over the month ends.
  3. Check the weekday. 30 days is 4 weeks and 2 days, so the weekday moves forward 2 days: Friday becomes Sunday.
  4. If the date falls on a weekend or a holiday, decide whether your deadline moves to the next working day. The calculator shows both dates.

How many working days are in 30 days?

It depends on where the span starts. 30 days always holds the same calendar days, but the number of weekdays and federal holidays inside changes. The table counts working days, meaning weekdays that are not federal holidays, for four example start dates in 2027. The start day is not counted.

Federal holidays use the observed date: a holiday on a Saturday is observed on the Friday before, and one on a Sunday on the Monday after. Private employers and states set their own holidays, so treat the count as a guide and adjust for your own calendar.

What is 30 days used for?

30 days comes up in payroll, HR, benefits and everyday deadlines. The length is the same each time, but the rule around it is not, so check which one applies to you.

  • A 30-day notice to end a month-to-month lease or a service contract. The lease or state law sets whether the notice must arrive, or only be sent, by the date.
  • A 30-day special enrollment window for employer health plans after a birth, an adoption or a marriage.
  • A return or money-back window, where the clock usually starts on the purchase or delivery date.
  • A 30-day follow-up: a probation check, a trial end date, or the date an invoice on net 30 terms falls due.
Watch the count. Thirty days is not “next month”. Over a year the same 30-day step lands on a different day of the month each time, and it drifts later against the calendar. If a contract says one month, use the months calculator; if it says 30 days, count days.

Switch the direction to “before” to count back. 30 days before Friday, January 15, 2027 is Wednesday, December 16, 2026, 30 days earlier, with 20 working days in between. Use it to find a start date, a look-back window or the day a past deadline began.

How many paydays fall in 30 days?

A span of 30 days holds 4 or 5 weekly paydays and 2 or 3 biweekly paydays, depending on which weekday and week your pay cycle falls on. For semi-monthly pay (the 15th and the last day) expect about 2 paydays. Because the span is not a whole number of pay periods, one start date can have one payday more than another.

Can you add the date to a calendar or print it?

Yes. After you calculate, “Add to calendar” downloads an all-day .ics event that opens in Google Calendar, Apple Calendar and Outlook. “Copy link” saves your start date and number in the address, and “Print” gives a clean one-page sheet with the table. Nothing you enter leaves your device.
