How do you calculate 14 days from today?
14 days are counted in calendar days, with today as day 0. The calculator adds 14 days to the start date (today unless you change it), or subtracts it in “before” mode, using plain Gregorian calendar dates with no time zone. Working days are weekdays that are not US federal holidays, counted after the start date up to and including the end date. Federal holidays use the observed date, so a Saturday holiday is observed on Friday and a Sunday holiday on Monday. If the result falls on a weekend or a federal holiday, the next working day is shown too. Employer, state and bank holidays are not included.
For example, 14 days after Monday, March 1, 2027: 14 days is 2 weeks, so the weekday stays the same and the date is Monday, March 15, 2027. Of the 14 days after the start, 10 are weekdays and none of them is a federal holiday, so the span has 10 working days. The dates are made up for the example; yours start from today or from the date you enter.

14 days comes up in payroll, HR, benefits and everyday deadlines. The length is the same each time, but the rule around it is not, so check which one applies to you.
- A two weeks’ notice date: the last day of work if you tell your employer today. Notice of this length is a custom in most US jobs, not a federal rule.
- A biweekly pay cycle: one pay period is 14 days, so two pay periods are 28 days from the same start.
- A short return or trial window set by a store or a subscription, where the date on the receipt decides the deadline.
- A follow-up date for an invoice, a quote or a job application, when you want to chase after two weeks.
