How do you calculate 4 weeks from today?
4 weeks is 28 days, with today as day 0. The calculator adds 4 weeks to the start date (today unless you change it), or subtracts it in “before” mode, using plain Gregorian calendar dates with no time zone. Working days are weekdays that are not US federal holidays, counted after the start date up to and including the end date. Federal holidays use the observed date, so a Saturday holiday is observed on Friday and a Sunday holiday on Monday. If the result falls on a weekend or a federal holiday, the next working day is shown too. Employer, state and bank holidays are not included.
For example, 4 weeks after Monday, March 1, 2027: 28 days is 4 weeks, so the weekday stays the same and the date is Monday, March 29, 2027. Of the 28 days after the start, 20 are weekdays and none of them is a federal holiday, so the span has 20 working days. The dates are made up for the example; yours start from today or from the date you enter.
Who should use the 4 weeks from today calculator
- Managers on a four-week review cycle
- Payroll staff with a four-weekly schedule
- Anyone planning a four-week program
Who should not use this
- Anyone who needs a legal deadline, since courts and contracts have their own counting rules
- Anyone who needs a state, employer or bank holiday list; only US federal holidays are built in
- Anyone who needs clock times or time zones
Limitations
- Dates are plain calendar days with no time zone, and the start date is not counted as day 1.
- Working days skip Saturdays, Sundays and US federal holidays only; add your own holidays with the working days calculator.
- A contract, notice or court rule may count days differently; check the wording that applies to you.
- Results are calendar arithmetic, not legal advice.
- Nothing is uploaded or stored on a server. Clearing your browser data also removes the saved profile.
What is 4 weeks from today?
Four weeks is exactly 28 days, so the date is on the same weekday as the start. It is shorter than every calendar month except a common-year February, which is the trap in using it as “one month”.
For example, 4 weeks after Monday, March 1, 2027 is Monday, March 29, 2027. That is 28 days, or 4 weeks. Skipping Saturdays, Sundays and federal holidays, the span holds 20 working days. No federal holiday falls inside it. The date is a working day.

- Write down the start date. Today is day 0, so tomorrow is day 1.
- Multiply 4 weeks by 7 to get 28 days, then add them.
- Check the weekday. 28 days is exactly 4 weeks, so the weekday does not change: a Monday start gives a Monday.
- If the date falls on a weekend or a holiday, decide whether your deadline moves to the next working day. The calculator shows both dates.

How many working days are in 4 weeks?
It depends on where the span starts. 4 weeks always holds the same calendar days, but the number of weekdays and federal holidays inside changes. The table counts working days, meaning weekdays that are not federal holidays, for four example start dates in 2027. The start day is not counted.
| Start date | End date | Weekday | Working days | Federal holidays inside |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jan 4, 2027 | Feb 1, 2027 | Monday | 19 | 1 |
| Apr 5, 2027 | May 3, 2027 | Monday | 20 | 0 |
| Jul 6, 2027 | Aug 3, 2027 | Tuesday | 20 | 0 |
| Oct 4, 2027 | Nov 1, 2027 | Monday | 19 | 1 |
Federal holidays use the observed date: a holiday on a Saturday is observed on the Friday before, and one on a Sunday on the Monday after. Private employers and states set their own holidays, so treat the count as a guide and adjust for your own calendar.
What is 4 weeks used for?
4 weeks comes up in payroll, HR, benefits and everyday deadlines. The length is the same each time, but the rule around it is not, so check which one applies to you.
- A four-week notice or a four-week review cycle where the date must land on the same weekday.
- Two biweekly pay periods: four weeks after a payday is the second payday after it.
- A four-week program, course or challenge with a start date and an end date.
- A 4-4-5 style reporting calendar, where a period is four or five weeks rather than a calendar month.

What was 4 weeks ago?
Switch the direction to “before” to count back. 4 weeks before Monday, March 1, 2027 is Monday, February 1, 2027, 28 days earlier, with 19 working days in between. Use it to find a start date, a look-back window or the day a past deadline began.
How many paydays fall in 4 weeks?
A span of 28 days holds 4 weekly paydays and 2 biweekly paydays, depending on which weekday and week your pay cycle falls on. For semi-monthly pay (the 15th and the last day) expect about 2 paydays. Because the span is a whole number of pay periods, the count is the same wherever the cycle starts.

Yes. After you calculate, “Add to calendar” downloads an all-day .ics event that opens in Google Calendar, Apple Calendar and Outlook. “Copy link” saves your start date and number in the address, and “Print” gives a clean one-page sheet with the table. Nothing you enter leaves your device.
