How do you find 30 days ago?
30 days are counted in calendar days, with today as day 0. The calculator subtracts 30 days from the start date (today unless you change it), or adds it in “after” mode, using plain Gregorian calendar dates with no time zone. Working days are weekdays that are not US federal holidays, counted after the start date up to and including the end date. Federal holidays use the observed date, so a Saturday holiday is observed on Friday and a Sunday holiday on Monday. If the result falls on a weekend or a federal holiday, the next working day is shown too. Employer, state and bank holidays are not included.
For example, 30 days before Thursday, April 15, 2027: 30 days is 4 weeks and 2 days, so the weekday moves back 2 days and the date is Tuesday, March 16, 2027. Of the 30 days before the start, 22 are weekdays and none of them is a federal holiday, so the span has 22 working days. The dates are made up for the example; yours start from today or from the date you enter.
Who should use the 30 days ago calculator
- Shoppers checking a return window
- Managers pulling a last-30-days report

Who should not use this
- Anyone who needs a legal deadline, since courts and contracts have their own counting rules
- Anyone who needs a state, employer or bank holiday list; only US federal holidays are built in

Limitations
- Dates are plain calendar days with no time zone, and the start date is not counted as day 1.

- A contract, notice or court rule may count days differently; check the wording that applies to you.
- Results are calendar arithmetic, not legal advice.
- Nothing is uploaded or stored on a server. Clearing your browser data also removes the saved profile.
What date was 30 days ago?
Thirty days ago is the date a month-long window began. It is the date to check for a return, a payment, a trial that started or a “last 30 days” report.
For example, 30 days before Thursday, April 15, 2027 is Tuesday, March 16, 2027. That is 30 days, or 4 weeks and 2 days. Skipping Saturdays, Sundays and federal holidays, the span holds 22 working days. No federal holiday falls inside it. The date is a working day.
Weeks from date calculatorWeeks between two dates, or a repeating date every few weeks. How do you count 30 days back from a date?
- Write down the start date. Today is day 0, so yesterday is day 1.
- Subtract 30 from the day of the month and borrow days from the earlier months where needed.
- Check the weekday. 30 days is 4 weeks and 2 days, so the weekday moves back 2 days: Thursday becomes Tuesday.
- If the date falls on a weekend or a holiday, decide whether your deadline moves to the next working day. The calculator shows both dates.

How many working days are in 30 days ago?
It depends on where the span starts. 30 days always holds the same calendar days, but the number of weekdays and federal holidays inside changes. The table counts working days, meaning weekdays that are not federal holidays, for four example start dates in 2027, counting back. The start day is not counted.
| Start date | End date | Weekday | Working days | Federal holidays inside |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jan 4, 2027 | Dec 5, 2026 | Saturday | 18 | 2 |
| Apr 5, 2027 | Mar 6, 2027 | Saturday | 20 | 0 |
| Jul 6, 2027 | Jun 6, 2027 | Sunday | 19 | 2 |
| Oct 4, 2027 | Sep 4, 2027 | Saturday | 19 | 1 |
Federal holidays use the observed date: a holiday on a Saturday is observed on the Friday before, and one on a Sunday on the Monday after. Private employers and states set their own holidays, so treat the count as a guide and adjust for your own calendar.

How many paydays fall in 30 days?
A span of 30 days holds 4 or 5 weekly paydays and 2 or 3 biweekly paydays, depending on which weekday and week your pay cycle falls on. For semi-monthly pay (the 15th and the last day) expect about 2 paydays. Because the span is not a whole number of pay periods, one start date can have one payday more than another.

Yes. After you calculate, “Add to calendar” downloads an all-day .ics event that opens in Google Calendar, Apple Calendar and Outlook. “Copy link” saves your start date and number in the address, and “Print” gives a clean one-page sheet with the table. Nothing you enter leaves your device.
